Simulation Engineer
Build the operational simulations that let Atlas explore scenarios before resources are committed.
Simulation is how Atlas reasons about futures that have not happened yet. This role owns the systems that model operational behaviour, explore scenarios, and support decision-making when the cost of being wrong is real.
- Design and build simulation systems for operational domains, including supply, movement, and disruption scenarios.
- Work with domain analysts and research scientists to make sure simulations reflect operational reality.
- Integrate simulation outputs into the intelligence layer so they can be surfaced as decision support.
- Develop calibration and validation practices so simulations can be trusted where they matter.
- Own performance and correctness of simulation runs across a range of scales.
- Strong background in simulation, numerical methods, or operations research.
- Production software engineering experience. Simulation systems are software systems.
- Ability to work with domain experts to encode operational knowledge into models.
- Comfort with uncertainty and with explaining it.
These are not required. They are the kind of background that tends to do well in this role.
- Experience with discrete event simulation, agent-based models, or system dynamics.
- Background in logistics, energy, or transport systems.
